Property Consortium announces 40 new jobs

31st August 2014

Property Consortium has announced it is recruiting an additional 40 staff locally after winning a significant contract extension with leading insurance firm, Ageas.

The company is taking the opportunity to reorganise to maintain its lean and efficient operating service. It’s recruiting throughout the business and aims to have the posts filled this summer.

MP for Taunton Deane Jeremy Browne visited Property Consortium. He commented on the news: “The creation of more new jobs in Culmhead is another great boost for Taunton Deane. Property Consortium is a real success story both in terms of its focus on employing local people, and as a benchmark business in the financial services industry.

“I know that the hard work of regional businesses like this is helping Taunton Deane maintain lower unemployment rates than the UK average. More than this, Jeremy Hyams and the team are demonstrating a level of growth through entrepreneurship that should encourage other large employers to look closely at Somerset.”

Jeremy Hyams, CEO at Property Consortium, said the extension with Ageas was a great boost to the company and the pool of local staff: “It has been a turbulent few years in the financial services industry but we have out-performed the market in no small part due to the quality of our local staff.

“The team of 140 people in Culmhead has shown a real dedication to handling claims for our clients in an efficient and sensitive way, and this contract underlines the role good people play in a good business.

“We’ve grown considerably over the last 15 years to become a £20million business and this round of recruitment will take us to a staff of almost 200.”
