Former Zurich director Steve Grieve has been appointed as Claims Consortium’s Chief Information Officer to extend the company’s ability to capitalise on digital opportunities in the insurance sector.

“Steve’s appointment to the board as CIO is a significant step for our business,” said Jeremy Hyams, CEO of Claims Consortium. “He will lead our digital expansion and our continuing innovation in the IT arena.

“Fundamental to our growth is the development of our Synergy® claims technology, which supports our extensive claims handling portfolio. The insurance industry has acknowledged that Synergy® is transformational through our BIA award win, and we’re ready to exploit its full potential.”

Steve commented: “Having worked with the board and management team for the past six months I have witnessed their drive and vision to make the insurance customer experience truly exceptional. IT will be a major factor in this, and my role is an exciting opportunity to lead developments in the digital space that will help the company excel in its goals.”

In addition to 30 years of experience in General Insurance, including roles at Executive and Board level, Steve specifically brings a wealth of IT security, transformation and strategic experience to Claims Consortium.

He was most recently with Zurich Insurance Plc as Business Operations Director for Personal Lines & Endsleigh, and has been working with Claims Consortium since July as a Non-Executive Director.
