Group shortlisted for four Somerset Business Awards
29th September 2015
Claims Consortium Group has reached the final three in all four of its Somerset Business Awards nominations.
The Group has been shortlisted in the four award categories: Service Excellence, Skills for Growth, Top business 50+ staff and Young Employee. Organised by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce, the Awards recognise Somerset businesses and their achievements.
Debbie Mawer, Director of People and Culture at the Group stated: “The common dominator across our entries has been the role of our employees in achieving outstanding business results over the last year. As a proud local recruiter, we look for enthusiastic individuals that are keen to learn and in return we provide a nurturing environment in which employees can fulfil both professional and personal goals.
“We have been able to demonstrate how we invest through training and personal development, celebrate the excellent customer service skills displayed by our employees and how cohesively we all work together across the Group.”
Debbie continued: “We are particularly pleased that Becky Read from our HR team has reached the final three for the Young Employee Award. Becky is a fantastic example of a dynamic individual who in a very short period of time has made a positive impact on the Group and become a champion of our charitable activities within the county.”
Turning down an opportunity in London, Becky chose to pursue her HR interest locally taking a week’s work experience at the Group believing she could learn more in a small but growing business. Nine months later Becky has become a key person within the HR team.
Group CEO Jeremy Hyams, said: “Somerset is rich in untapped talent and we are pleased to have a close relationship with the local community in terms of employment opportunities as well as taking an active part in supporting and working with local charities.
These award nominations are a testament to the hard work and commitment of our workforce and a wonderful celebration of the vibrant Somerset business community.”
